Chicken Paprikash

Ingredients

1 medium onion, chopped

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups broth

3 tablespoons paprika

1 bay leaf

Pinch of salt

1 1/2 cups sour cream

1 1/2 lbs. shredded chicken

Description

Hungarian paprika chicken dish.

Directions

In a large pan, sauté the onion in butter. Stir in the flour until blended, then cook for 3 minutes.

Gradually add the broth. Add the paprika, salt, and bay leaf.

Bring to a simmer; cook and stir until it is starting to thicken. Taste and adjust.

Reduce heat to low. Stir in sour cream. Discard bay leaf. Stir in the chicken and heat through.

Turn off the heat.

Serve with Spaetzle (Spätzle), egg noddles, or mashed potatoes.
